During college, I got involved in sales by working for Dish Network. I sold TV packages door to door. I was part of a summer sales program that offered college students a full commission sales job during their four month summer break.  That summer, I was the 3rd highest producing sales rep (Out of about 50 or so sales reps). That experience taught me how to sell, how to work with people, and helped strengthen my inner confidence.  After selling, I returned to college and continued with my marketing degree. It wasn’t long before I got involved with a start-up company called Paradigm.  With four business partners we started a TV channel airing local, “YouTube-type” content on municipal cable networks.  Although a stellar idea, we had the wrong medium; before long, the real YouTube came along and our channel lost traction.

I was still working on my degree and therefore needed a part-time job. After our TV venture broke apart, I started working for a door to door pest control called Rove Pest Control.  I started as a technician rather than as a sales rep (due to the fact the summer season was pretty much over when I started).  The next summer, Rove put me in charge of a new venture–starting a lawn care company. The pest control side of Rove backed me financially and Rove Lawn Care operated out of the same office as Rove Pest Control. The new venture was a huge success. By the end of that summer we had over 500 customers, and if my memory serves me right, I think we were doing around a quarter of a million dollars annually–not bad for 6 months worth of work.

I worked with Rove for another 3 years. During that time, it was my great privilege to work closely with the owners, Lenny Grey and Mckay Bodily. They’re two of the most brilliant, competent, and distinguished individuals I have ever know.  Lenny, especially served as a mentor to me and taught me a great deal about relationships, communication and influence. If the only thing I took away from the Rove experience was Lenny’s mentorship,  the experience would have been more than profitable. Luckily though, it wasn’t the only thing I took away. Between Rove and the other door to door companies I have worked with, I have acquired around 7500 accounts. Rove offered me a great living and I enjoyed the work, however, eventually the drive to start my own company became too great. I resigned and started Rock Marketing. Rock was founded with the goal of helping companies strengthen their marketing machine.

While building Rock Marketing I completed a non-conventional MBA program which focused on business growth and marketing. In my life, it has been my privilege to work with, and learn from, several very competent, distinguished, business savvy individuals. I studied Tony Robbins and found tons of value in his Ultimate Business Mastery System. I have  studied Chet Holmes and many other prominent business mentors such as Jay Abrams, Gary Vaynerchuk, Josh Kaufman, Michael Masterson, Eben Pagan, Timothy Ferris and a host of others.

I wrote a book which serves as a manual for Rock’s marketing consulting service. My book articulates how to create a strategically superior marketing system and explains the uses of almost 200 marketing tactics, as well as business development procedures. With this manual it is easier–way easier–to create strategies capable of growing any company to the next level.

I understand that the 21st century market place is tough–however, I believe that with pigheaded discipline, determination, good marketing, and strategic foresight, anyone can be successful.  I can help you and your company, develop a world-class marketing machine as well as brilliant strategy.
